Where can I find my Canadian bank account details?

  • Updated

How to properly locate your banking details to ensure your wire withdrawal is successfully processed.

The 3 details that are needed to process an outbound wire in Canada:

  1. Institution Number: the 3-digit number that identifies the Canadian bank
  2. Transit Number: the 5-digit number that identifies the specific branch where your account is located
  3. Account Number: this can be 7-14 digits, please ensure you do not enter your transit number with your account number.

These bank details can be obtained from a void cheque document, which can be accessed via your bank’s website or by contacting your branch.

Another document that contains the required bank account information is a direct deposit form, which may be downloaded from your bank’s website as well.
