How do I fund my Bitbuy account using e-Transfer?

IMPORTANT - Please ensure you understand the following before funding your Bitbuy account:

  • e-Transfers received in the name of a spouse, partner, friend, nickname, etc. will not be accepted
  • A registered Bitbuy business account is required to send funds from a business bank account
  • The security question and security answer we provide are required and must be entered exactly as displayed within your Bitbuy account

Send an e-Transfer using the security question and answer we provide, and your deposit will be automatically credited to your Bitbuy account when the e-Transfer is received!

1) Sign in to your Bitbuy account and click on 'Add Funds' and then 'Use e-Transfer'

2) Sign in to your financial institution's online banking platform and send your e-Transfer

The security question and security answer we provide are required and must be entered exactly as displayed within your Bitbuy account.

If it is your first time sending an e-Transfer to fund your Bitbuy account, you will need to add us as a recipient using the name and email address displayed during this step.

A breakdown of the required information is below.

a) Recipient Name: The name you must enter when adding a new recipient to your e-Transfer recipient list.

b) Recipient Email Address: The email address you must enter when adding a new recipient to your e-Transfer recipient list. Please ensure you select to notify by email and not SMS.

c) Security Question: The security question you must enter after you have added us as a recipient and are sending your e-Transfer. This will always be your Bitbuy username.

d) Security Answer: The security answer you must enter after you have added us as a recipient and are sending your e-Transfer. This is a unique code that is generated for your Bitbuy account. Please ensure to copy and paste this to avoid any errors/typos.

 

Mobile App

1) Sign in to your Bitbuy account and click on 'Deposit' and 'Canadian Dollar (CAD)' and 'Interac e-Transfer'

2) Sign in to your financial institution's online banking platform and send your e-Transfer.
